Sarráa is an emerging Egyptian cinematographer and BAFTA Connect member whose eye is drawn to the quiet poetry of light. Over the past three years, she has moved gracefully between the glow of film sets and the shadows where stories take shape—balancing lighting work on short films, feature films, and TV series while nurturing the visions she shoots herself.
Her recent projects include the BAFTA Cymru–nominated documentary Finding Hope, currently streaming on BBC iPlayer, where her images trace resilience with a tender, searching gaze. She also lensed The Dandies of Albertopolis, a short film captured on 16mm, its grainy textures echoing her love for the tactile and the timeless. The film premiered at the UK Asian Film Festival 2023 and opened the screening of Polite Society (Universal Pictures | BBC Films).
In every frame she shapes, Sarráa leans toward the luminous—toward stories that flicker, breathe, and refuse to fade. Most recently, she shadowed DOP Fabian Wagner with director/actor Idris Elba, and DOP Emily Almond Barr on Vigil Season 3, further sharpening her craft beside artists she deeply admires.
She is currently signed on as Director of Photography for the short film The Oath, shooting in London in 2026 and generously funded through BFI / Film London, as well as In Hiding, a short film set in Nigeria.
